Model A Sedan Car Raffle

Feb 1, 2010 – July 1, 2011

I.  Official Rules

 

  1. There will be one (1) prize winner. 

 

  1. Winner need not be present at drawing to win.

 

  1. Members of the general public as well as regular members of the Model A Ford Foundation and other Model A Ford clubs and organizations are eligible to enter the contest and win the prize, a Model A Ford sedan. 

 

  1. The following persons are ineligible for the raffle:  Members of the Board of Trustees of the Model A Ford Foundation, Inc. (MAFFI); MAFFI employees; Any member of the immediate family of the aforementioned entities. 

 

  1. On the day of the drawing, only official MAFFI-printed tickets will be drawn.  No facsimiles will be permitted to be included in the ticket container. 

 

  1. The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. 

 

  1. All Federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. 

 

  1. Winner must be 18 years of age, or if the winner is under 18, he/she must present certified approval of his parent or legal guardian.

 

  1. Winner may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility/publicity release at the time possession is take of the vehicle.  Failure to accomplish this will cause an alternate winner to be selected. 

 

  1. Winner is responsible to transport the vehicle from its location at time of the drawing to his/her location.  Transport must take place within 60 days or storage fees of $50 per day will apply. 

 

  1. The prize is non-transferable and no substitutions will be offered on the prize. 

 

  1. Winner is responsible for any income taxes that may incur with the car raffle or cash prize.   Winner must complete IRS W-9, prior to release of prize.  

 

 

II. Description of Raffle

 

  1. MAFFI, the sponsor of this raffle, is offering the opportunity to become eligible for a drawing to win one prize, a 1930 Model A Ford Tudor.  100% of proceeds will be use to benefit The National Model A Ford Museum, being developed by the   Model A Ford Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.  The purchase of the ticket is not tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. 

 

  1. Car Description:  A 1930 Model A Ford two-door sedan, manufacturer’s number 2,742,275.  The car is an older restoration and has not been modified in any known manner.  There are no guarantees or warranties associated with the car.  The car is offered and will be awarded on the basis of “as is, where is”.

 

  1. Raffle Dates- February 1, 2010 through July 1, 2011.

 

  1. Tickets will be sold nationally at local Model A Ford clubs and gatherings and at national meets during the raffle period.

 

  1. In addition, MAFFI Members and others will sell tickets at other times and locations, in person and by mail, as appropriate.      

 

III. Eligibility and Limitations

 

  1. This raffle is only open to U.S. Residents at least 18 (16??)years of age, and is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all applicable Federal, state and local laws and regulations.  This raffle is registered with the Attorney General of the State of California and the raffle shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. MAFFI reserves the right to change the Official Rules at any time without notice.  MAFFI shall make all decisions related to the raffle at its sole discretion.  Participants agree to be bound by this Official Rules and the decisions of MAFFI and waive any right to the claim of ambiguity in the raffle operation or Official Rules.

 

  1. By participating in the raffle, participants agree to release and hold MAFFI Board of Directors or Members harmless from any or all losses, damages, rights, claims, and actions of any kind in connection with the raffle including from the act of winning or using the prize.  MAFFI makes no representation or warranties, expressed or implied, about the raffle or any prize awarded.

 

  1. Any or all of entries will be disqualified at the sole discretion of MAFFI if the participant attempts: (a) to enter the raffle through any means other than described in these Official Rules; or (b) to disrupt the raffle, circumvent the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, or in any way tamper with the raffle.  If either of the above occurs, MAFFI has the right to remedy any such disruption, or circumventions, and to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

 

  1. MAFFI is not responsible for error, omission, interruptions, deletion, defect, delay in operations, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of contest entry materials, or for malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate or failure to receive entry information or any combination thereof.  MAFFI is not responsible for any entries that are late, misdirected, incomplete, or altered.  MAFFI reserves the right to cancel the raffle if the registration process and/or raffle become corrupted.

 

  1. MAFFI cannot give advice with regard to income tax consequences or deductibility with respect to the raffle ticket purchase or the raffle winner.

 

IV. Awarding of Prize

 

  1. The contest winner will be announced at the Model A Restorer’s Club annual meet hosted by the Pacific A’s Region in San Diego, CA on July 1, 2011 and announced on the foundation web site - maffi.org.  If the winner is not in attendance, the winner will be notified via phone call or address provided to MAFFI on the raffle ticket.  Winner is responsible for all associated fees which include but may not be limited to Federal, State & Local taxes and fees.

 

  1. To claim the prize, the winner may be obligated to submit an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules of the raffle.  The winner will be required to arrange to pick up their prize from its storage location.  The winner will be required to provide proof of identity and will be responsible for all taxes, license fees, and all other documentation.

 

  1. If a winner does not respond with ten (10) days, MAFFI will make one additional attempt to notify winner.  Failure to respond within 10 days of the second attempt will constitute a forfeiture of the prize, and a new winner will be drawn from the remaining raffle entry tickets.  This procedure will be followed until a winner is selected.

 

  1. MAFFI is not responsible for any delays or obstacles in notification due to (a) erroneous contact information; (b) any outage or delay in telephone or mail service; or (c) any other circumstances which may delay or prevent a winner from receiving the first or second notification.

 

  1. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for MAFFI to use the winner’s name, address, photograph, testimonial or other likeness and/or prize information or personal exposition (and/or and edited portion thereof) for promotional, advertising and/or publicity purposes in any media, now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without compensation or notice to, or further consent of the winner to the extent permitted by the law.
